K-9 puppy to visit local libraries

The public can meet the Lafourche Parish Sheriff's Office's newest K-9 at public libraries this summer. K-9 "Rescue" will be making appearances at Lafourche Parish Library branches throughout the parish.

K-9 Section Supervisor, Sergeant Eddie Rodrigue III, will accompany K-9 "Rescue" at the following branches at the dates and times listed:

- South Lafourche Library (Galliano Branch) on Tuesday, June 30 at 11 a.m.
- Golden Meadow Branch on Tuesday, June 30 at 2:30 p.m.
- Larose Branch on Wednesday, July 1 at 11 a.m.
- Gheens Branch on Thursday, July 2 at 11 a.m.
- Raceland Branch on Wednesday, July 15 at 11 a.m.
- Lockport Branch on Wednesday, July 15 at 2:30 p.m.

K-9 "Rescue" is a black female Labrador retriever trained in search and rescue tactics and cadaver searches. She was donated by Sergeant Rodrigue's father, Eddie Rodrigue Jr., who has been serving as a reserve deputy since his retirement from the Sheriff's Office in 2008 following a 27-year career in law enforcement.
