Information Sought on Camp Arson in Bayou Blue
Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre and the Louisiana State Fire Marshal H. "Butch" Browning announced a reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest of the person or persons responsible for burning down a hunting and fishing camp in Bayou Blue.
At around noon on Saturday, January 24, deputies and firefighters from the Bayou Blue Volunteer Fire Department responded to a fire at the camp located just off Sharnell Drive in Bayou Blue. Fire officials determined there was no safe way for a fire truck to reach the camp due to the surrounding marsh, and the structure was a total loss.
Officials with the Office of the State Fire Marshal also responded, and through investigation, they determined arson to be the suspected cause of the fire. LPSO detectives assisting in the investigation learned the suspected arsonist(s) most likely arrived and fled by boat or some other watercraft.
Investigators are asking for your help in solving this crime. Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers Bayou Region at 1-800-743-7433, or text the keyword "GIVEATIP" along with the information to 274637.
Tipsters will remain anonymous and could be eligible for a reward up to $1,000 in cash if the information given leads to an arrest.
