Here is a rundown of action taken during tonight’s Lafourche Parish School Board meeting. All votes were unanimous unless stated otherwise. Board member Robby Gisclair was absent.
ACTION: Accepted a $17,646 change order for the flooring glue for the new Bayou Blue Upper Elementary School project.
ACTION: Accepted a budget increase from $2.3 million to $2.4 million for the Bayou Blue Elementary new administration building project.
ACTION: Accepted a right of entry from the Lafourche Parish government allowing the Department of Transportation and Development to construct sidewalks at Raceland Upper Elementary, Raceland Middle, Bayou Blue Elementary, Bayou Blue Upper Elementary and Bayou Blue Middle schools.
ACTION: Accepted the low bid from LaFeur Dairy Products for milk and milk products for the 2019-20 school year.
ACTION: Accepted the low bid from Flowers Baking Co. for bread for the 2019-20 school year.
ACTION: Accepted the low bid from the recommended vendors for food products for the 2019-20 school year.
ACTION: Accepted the low bid from Economical Janitorial and Paper Supplies for janitorial and paper products for the 2019-20 school year.
ACTION: Accepted the low bid received from Joe’s Septic Contractors Inc. for cleaning of grease traps effective for the 2019-20 school year.
ACTION: Approved the auto renewal of ERP Software Support Services from Tyler Technologies for Munis Applications in the amount of $81,099.76 for the 2019-20 fiscal year.
ACTION: Approved the renewal of web hosting software services with E-Chalk for the 2019-20 fiscal school year in the amount of $47,850.00.
ACTION: Approved the renewal of software license support services for JCampus Student Data Applications from Ed Gear in the amount of $176,894 for the 2019-20 fiscal school year.
ACTION: Approved the renewal terms and pricing for disaster recovery managed services from Baseline Data Services in the amount of $24,000 for the 2019-20 fiscal school year.
ACTION: Approved renewal terms and pricing for Child Nutrition Payment Software Support Service Applications from Heartland School Solutions in the amount of $28,363 for the 2019-20 fiscal school year.
ACTION: Awarded the bid for refurbished desktop computers to VIG Solutions, Option B Dell Optiplex 7040 SFF i5, sixth generation computer with a five-year warranty at $335 each.
ACTION: Approved the superintendent’s recommendation to authorize the inclusion of a step increase to the salary schedule for 2019-20 fiscal year for all employees and add back one day to the employees contracted with 185+ days to the 2020 Comprehensive Original Budget.
ACTION: Accepted the high bid of $1,350 (annually/$2.15 per acre) from Donald Marcello for hunting and fishing privileges on Section 16, Township 20S, Range 22E.
ACTION: Accepted a change order of $15,000 to the contract for the Concrete Restoration project at W.S. Lafargue Elementary School.
ACTION: Adopted a resolution declaring the results of the May 4 special election and authorized the renewal of the four special taxes included on the ballot.
ACTION: Approved the 2019-20 Pupil Progression Plan with recommended changes.
ACTION: Selected The Daily Comet as the official journal for the Lafourche Parish School Board for the period of July 1 through June 30, 2020.
ACTION: Denied waiving the $600 use of facility fee associated with the use of Thibodaux High School for the second annual Trovon Reed Celebrity Basketball Game on June 29. Tina Babin, Mary Breaud, Marian Fertitta, Dennis Guillot, Valerie Bourgeois, Clyde Duplantis, Andy Schouest, Al Archer and Ray Bernard voted against waiving the fee. Brooke Huddleston, Cheryl Thomas, Tyler Dufrene, Barry Plaisance and Troy Dufrene voted in favor of waiving the fee.
