Humane Society President wishes to clear her name
I am the founder and president of the Humane Society – Lafourche Chapter.
I was recently charged with cruelty to animals.
I wish to inform the public that charges brought against me are inaccurate. I have not violated any animal statutes. As an animal advocate, I care deeply about the welfare of all animals.
I currently co-own property in Lockport with my former boyfriend, John Gautreaux, who has also been charged with cruelty. The animals in question, more than a dozen horses, belong to Mr. Gautreaux.
These animals are the subject of the cruelty investigation.
I do not own any of these animals which are on the shared owned property, nor were they under my care.
The Humane Society was not involved in any way with these horses. I did not put them there and am not a party to any cruelty on their behalf.
I am fully cooperating with the authorities and plan to bring forth proof of my innocence. I am confident that the facts presented to the DA and the court will exonerate me.
