A mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, April 25 at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cut Off for Herman (E.T.) Plaisance, Sr., 78, a native and resident of Cut Off, who died on April 22, 2013 at 6:04 p.m.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. till 9 p.m. on Wednesday, April 24 and on Thursday, April 25 from 8 a.m. till 10:30 a.m. at Samart-Mothe Funeral Home in Cut Off with services followed at 11 a.m. at the church. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery.

He is survived by wife of 59 years, Maudry Naquin Plaisance; sons, Herman Plaisance, Jr. and wife Iris Randy Plaisance and wife Denise, Wayne Plaisance and wife Rose; daughter, Mona Plaisance; sisters, Irene Griffin, Ramona Williams, Rita Guidry, Irma Hartman; grandchildren, Michael Plaisance, Chrissy Rousse (Todd), Jason Plaisance (Ragen), Scott Plaisance (Alicia), Taylor Plaisance (Roxie), Lacey Messer (Chase), Wayne Plaisance, Jr. (Charlotte), Megan Plaisance and companion Thomas Tondreau and Shelly Porras (Jonathan); great grandchildren, Mia Plaisance, Owen Plaisance, Cylus Adams, Caden Messer, Taylor Plaisance, Jr., Jude Messer, Diego Adams, Calleigh Plaisance, Kyle Plaisance, Dawson Messer, Braydin Plaisance, Allie Rousse and Carter Plaisance.

He was preceded in death by parents, Evest Plaisance, Sr. and Augusta Ledet Plaisance; son, Jason Paul Plaisance; brothers, Landon, Ernest, Norman, Evest, Jr., Augustin and Paul Plaisance; sister, Alzina Gisclair.

He was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church. He loved being on the water. He was a boat captain and loved being on his trawl boat the “E.T.”. He was a loving family man.
