Grand Isle State Park: The top mom-approved place to fish and boat in Louisiana

In a list made for moms, by moms and facilitated by the Recreational Boating and Fishing Foundation, (RBFF), Grand Isle State Park has officially been named a top, mom-approved place to fish and boat in Louisiana.

Thanks to its fish-filled waters and family-friendly amenities, Grand Isle State Park officially has the mom-approved seal of approval.

RBFF searched for places that have everything a family needs to experience the great outdoors – play areas and family-friendly amenities, picnic areas, safe water and boat access and of course, plenty of fish to catch including redfish, spotted seatrout and southern flounder.

A nationwide survey of thousands of moms revealed the list of top mom-approved places to fish and boat, which includes a comprehensive list of family-friendly fishing holes in all 50 states, which can be found at www.takemefishing.org .

Grand Isle State Park is a natural haven on the most popular barrier island off the coast of Louisiana. A beach ridge created by the action of the waves of the Gulf, Grand Isle serves as breakwater between the Gulf and the network of inland channels that connect to the bayou tributaries of the Mississippi River. Over 280 species of fish are known to make their home in waters off the coast of Grand Isle.

Now, Louisiana needs your votes. Only ten of the 50 will earn the honor of being named the Top 10 mom-approved places to fish and boat in the nation. Cast your vote at www.takemefishing.org through Friday, June 29. Each vote is a chance to win a family fishing and boating trip in sunny Florida. Winners will be announced in July.

The Recreational Boating and Fishing Foundation is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to increase participation in recreational angling and boating, thereby protecting and restoring the nation’s aquatic natural resources.
