Gisclair announces candidacy to School Board, District 12

To the voters of Lafourche Parish, I, Robby Gisclair, would like to announce my candidacy for the Lafourche Parish School Board District #12 seat in the upcoming November 6, 2018 election.

I am a 1996 graduate of South Lafourche High School and obtained by baccalaureate degree in science from Nicholls State University in 2000.

I have been married to my wife, Elizabeth Angelette Gisclair, for over 11 years. We have four beautiful children, Chandler (10), Annalise (9), Ava (8) and Adelaide (7).

We are also certified by the state of Louisiana as foster parents and currently have two long-term placements in our home, a 9-year old and a 16-year old foster son.

All of our children attend public school in Lafourche Parish with five of our children attending Cut Off Elementary and our oldest child attending South Lafourche High School.

As a parent of six children in the public school system, I am a proponent of public education and I know first-hand what our children and educators go through every day to make sure our children are receiving the best possible education. It has been through dedication and hard work that this school district is rated an “A” school district in the state of Louisiana. I vow to make sure that we continue to have the right resources in place to make sure we remain an “A” district.

I have been, and will continue to be, an advocate for all children of our school system. With a new superintendent being appointed by the end of 2018, it is imperative that we restore the faith of this board back into the public. As public servants, to not only our constituents but all constituents of this district, we must have open communications at all time and be easily accessible to the public.

I am in support of a reduction in the number of board members from 15 to 9 and we must work together as a board to figure out a way to properly compensate educators for the amount of time they invest into our kids’ education.

Early voting for the November 6, election is from October 23 to October 30.

I humbly ask for your vote to the Lafourche Parish School Board District #12 Seat.
