Galliano Man Charged with Attempted Murder in Shooting
Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre announced the arrest of a Galliano man for attempted murder after he shot another man Saturday evening. Jonathan Ramos-Vasquez (25, H/M) of Galliano was arrested at his residence following an investigation.
At around 6:20 p.m. on Saturday, March 21, deputies responded to a call of a shooting in the 200 block of Jerica Street in Galliano. Upon arrival to the neighborhood, deputies were flagged down by a man sitting in a pickup truck. As the deputies made contact with the man, they discovered he had been shot in the leg. Detectives also arrived on scene, and through investigation, they learned the victim arrived at a residence in the 200 block of Jerica Street where several men were present, including Jonathan Ramos-Vasquez. At some point, an argument ensued, and Ramos-Vasquez allegedly shot the man striking him in the thigh.
Detectives located Ramos-Vasquez’s at his residence and discovered he was in possession of a handgun as described to them by witnesses at the scene. He was taken into custody and charged with Attempted Second Degree Murder. He was transported to the Lafourche Parish Detention Center in Thibodaux where he is being held in lieu of $150,000 bond as set by Judge Steven M. Miller.
