Galliano man arrested on multiple charges; Cut Off woman wanted
Golden Meadow Chief of Police Reggie Pitre is announcing the arrest of Justin Savoie of Galliano. On December 28, 2018, officers of the Golden Meadow Police Department noticed suspicious activity at a N. Bayou Drive residence. Officers made contact with Savoie and a Lori Dupuy of Cut Off. During the encounter Dupuy gave a false name to the officers. When the officers went into the residence to locate Dupuy, she had fled the scene. Officers detained Savoie and, during a pat down, discovered a concealed handgun, marijuana and a pipe on his person.
Savoie was arrested and transported to the South Lafourche Sub-station. During Savoie’s strip search, another small pistol was located in Savoie’s buttocks. While Savoie was being processed, officers at the residence noticed Savoie’s truck door was open, and a homemade “zip gun” was lying on the floor of the truck. Officers then obtained a search warrant for the truck and recovered several more firearms and homemade suppressors. Savoie was charged with Possession of Marijuana (1st offense), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, taking Contraband to Penal Institution (Felony) and improper registration of a firearm (felony). Savoie was released after posting a $10,600 bond.
Lori Dupuy is still at large and is wanted on two active warrants issued by Probation & Parole and Golden Meadow Police Department.
