Galliano felon arrested for burglary at Larose motel
Sheriff Craig Webre announced the arrest of Rhett Thibodeaux, 20, of Galliano on Wednesday, November 11.
During the early morning hours of November 11, deputies began investigating a possible burglary at a Larose motel. Through investigation, deputies learned Thibodeaux, a convicted felon, made forced entry into the motel office and caused damage to the office door and sheet rock. Thibodeaux then attempted to disable security cameras by removing a computer from the office and placing it in a ditch behind the motel. He eventually left, stealing a firearm from the office.
Deputies made contact with Thibodeaux who admitted to his involvement in the burglary. Deputies also recovered the stolen firearm. Thibodeaux was taken into custody and transported to the Lafourche Parish Detention Center in Thibodaux where he was booked on charges of simple burglary, felony simple criminal damage to property, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
He is being held in lieu of $75,500 bond.
