Eldise M. Alleman, 98, a native of Erath and resident of Raceland passed away on Thursday, December 6, 2018. Mrs. Eldise is survived by her children, Ronny J. (Joan) Alleman, Darlene Alleman (Tony) Dupuy and Sable Alleman Cheramie; sister, Velma Stone; 9 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 20 great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Eldise was preceded in death by her husband, Emile Alleman; parents, Clarence and Amanda Carlin Bourgeois; brother, David Bourgeois; and son-in-law, Kurt Cheramie.
Ninety-eight years young, Eldise held many titles in her lifetime, but most importantly those of a wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. Among the first group of oilfield wives to settle in Lafourche Parish, she also belonged to a generation who transitioned from speaking French to English. She loved traveling, yard work, gardening and tending to her cotton plants.
Our family has been blessed to have her wisdom and kindness these many years. She will be dearly missed by all.
