Deputies Find Man Wanted for Stalking with Over 300 Grams of Marijuana
Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre announced a man arrested on Wednesday on an outstanding warrant for stalking was found with over 300 grams of marijuana. Jason Orgeron (33, W/M) of Cut Off faces multiple charges stemming from the incident after he attempted to flee from deputies.
On Saturday, February 28, deputies began investigating Orgeron amid allegations of him stalking a woman in the South Lafourche area. Deputies discovered a history of prior incidents between the two, including Orgeron’s prior arrest for stalking of the same victim. During the investigation, deputies spoke with the alleged victim and Orgeron and told them to discontinue contact with each other. Orgeron, however, continued to attempt to contact the victim, and deputies obtained a warrant for his arrest for the charge of Stalking.
At around 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 4, deputies in the South Lafourche area traveled to West 42nd Street to arrest Orgeron when they noticed Orgeron traveling along the street. Deputies attempted to initiate a traffic stop, but Orgeron initially refused to stop his vehicle and attempted to flee the area. He eventually stopped his vehicle behind a residence but refused to exit or comply with deputies’ commands. With the assistance of a K-9 unit, deputies were able to open a vehicle door and take Orgeron into custody without further incident.
Through investigation, deputies learned Orgeron had tossed bags containing suspected narcotics from the vehicle. Deputies later located the bags containing a total of over 300 grams of suspected marijuana.
Orgeron was arrested per the warrant for Stalking. He was additionally charged with Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana, Aggravated Flight from an Officer, and Resisting an Officer. His bond is not yet set, but he is also being held for Louisiana Probation and Parole.
