The following is a list of Lafourche Parish Council action of interest from the Tuesday, August 28 public meeting. All council persons were present and votes were unanimous unless otherwise noted.

-- Accepted the minutes of the May 8, 2018 Council public meeting

-- Heard an update from Louisiana 6th District U.S. Congressman Garrett Graves on issues he is sponsoring or supporting in Washington

-- Heard an update from Lafourche Parish Fire District No. 3 Fire Chief Kully Griffin

-- Passed a resolution removing Tommy Lasseigne as Interim Parish Administrator. (Vote was 7-2 with Michael Gros and James Bourgeois voting nay)

-- Passed an ordinance approving the sale of property at 301 E. 116th St., Galliano, for a minimum of $4,675

-- Passed an ordinance approving the sale of property on East 71st Street, Cut Off, La for $4,675

-- Passed an ordinance approving the sale of property on East 23rd Street, Larose, LA for $4,675

-- Passed an ordinance requiring all holders of state-issued certificates of franchise authority to pay Lafourche Parish one-half percent of gross revenues. (Bourgeois voted nay)

-- Passed a resolution requesting the District Attorney to render an opinion as to whether the Community Action Advisory Board, the Head Start Policy Council and the Library Board of Control should follow Attorney General Opinion 18-0093 or follow their own by-laws as it retains to unclassified employees

-- Passed a resolution requesting the Attorney General’s opinion as to whether the Home Rule Charter supersedes state law

-- Passed a resolution accepting the low quote of American Disposal, LLC for $4195 for the demolition of a condemned structure at 178 West 177th Street, Galliano, LA

-- Passed a resolution accepting the low quote of Byron E. Talbot for $10,000 for services related to the demolition of a condemned structure located at 17026 West Main Street, Galliano, LA

-- Passed a resolution appointing Morris Guidry to the Fire Protection District #3 Board

-- Passed a resolution for design services for the Raceland, Gheens and Larose Library reroofing and minor renovations

-- Pass a resolution approving an amendment to the agreement between Lafourche Parish Government and the Louisiana Department of Veterans Affairs
