Construction to permanently close small segment of LA Hwy. 24

MATHEWS, La. – Beginning Monday, Feb. 22, the small segment of LA Hwy. 24 from LA Hwy. 1 to just under and near the Larose Intracoastal Vertical Lift Bridge will be closed permanently as contractors for the South Lafourche Levee District begin construction of a 7-foot high floodwall in that location.

Work on the floodwall is expected to last approximately 90 days. Access to Hwy. 24 from that point will be via LA Hwy. 3235.
