Community support helps girls experience the chance of a lifetime
In June of 2012, a group of 15 young ladies walked into a corner of the LSU campus not knowing how much their lives would change nor the unlimited possibilities that would cross their paths.
The Golden Meadow Middle School Cheerleaders walked into the SCA summer camp with southern charm and eagerness to do the best they could in hopes of making an impression the organization would never forget.
The team came home Grand Champs and, as a team, each girl received All-American privileges. This honor granted the whole team the privilege of attending and performing on New Year’s Day for the Capital One Bowl’s half-time performance in Orlando, Florida.
As a team, the cost of the trip would be a total of $25,000 dollars! However, this was no threat to the team or their families. Everyone was on board to participate in many fundraisers and extra cheering performances in order to raise the money needed to reach the goal for “the chance of a lifetime!”
As a team we are happy to say, because of you, our community, we raised the money and our Golden Meadow Middle School Cheerleaders headed to Orlando on New Year’s Day to make our community proud.
A big thank you goes to our finest southern Louisiana community for your generous contributions, which landed our local cheerleaders “the chance of a lifetime”.
With the community, the staff of Golden Meadow Middle School, parents, families, friends, and ultimately God’s support, the 2012/2013 GM Cheerleaders were able to fulfill a dream.
Thank you to all and may God Bless each of you for your support!
