Community Action to Assist Lafourche Residents with rent, utilities and more

Lafourche Parish Government's Office of Community Action is assisting low-income individuals to improve living conditions and increase self-sufficiency. Services available are: one-month rental/mortgage payment, utility disconnect, lodging, food vouchers, tuition/books assistance, referrals or medication.

Applicants must show a decrease of income within the last 90 days to qualify. College students must provide documentation showing school enrollment and a balance summary. You must show a loss of income to qualify.

Guidelines are as follows, number in household and monthly income:
(1) $1,215.67
(2) $1,638.58
(3) $2,061.50
(4) $2,484.42
4 or more add an additional $422.92

Services are not guaranteed. Applications will be taken at the Mathews Site Office, 4876 Hwy. 1, Mathews, 8 to 11 a.m. and 1 to 4 p.m., 985-537-7603; and the Galliano Outreach Office, 16241 E. Main St, Suite 13B, Galliano, 8 to 11 a.m. and 1 to 4 p.m., 985-632-3989
