Charles “Charlie” Cheramie, 91, a native of Chauvin, resident of California and Nevada and mostly recently Galliano, passed away on Monday, July 18, 2016.

Visitation will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Saturday, July 23 from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. with military services to be held at 10 a.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at the church starting at 11 a.m. with burial to follow in the church cemetery.

Charles is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Colletti Cheramie; parents, Rudolph and Augusta Gaspard Cheramie; brothers, Leonard, George, Alex, Johnny, Albert Cheramie; sisters, Rosa Doucet, Sedonia Boudreaux, Leonise Cheramie, Leonore Mozley, Irene Raymond, Ismay Theriot and Rosalie Boudreaux.

Charles was a lifetime member of Disabled Veterans Association. He was a world traveler and a First Class Navy Seaman from 1943 until 1945.
