Bourg woman admits to aggravated burglary and attempted burglary
A Bourg woman was arrested for stealing several items from one residence and attempting to break in to another. Kaye Villatoro, 30, of Bourg was arrested Friday after confessing to both incidents.
On Thursday, April 30, deputies and detectives began investigating a residential burglary in the 200 block of Matherne Street in Bourg. Through investigation, detectives discovered over $1,000 worth of items were stolen from a residence, including a handgun, jewelry, electronics, and $40 from a child's piggy bank. They also discovered a surveillance camera had captured an image of the suspect whom deputies identified as Kaye Villatoro of Bourg.
The camera also captured the subject attempting to burglarize a neighboring residence.
On Friday, May 1, detectives located Villatoro and questioned her about the incidents. She confessed to both crimes and was placed under arrest.
She was booked into the Detention Center on charges of aggravated burglary and attempted simple burglary. The charge of aggravated burglary is due to Villatoro acquiring the handgun during the burglary.
She is being held in lieu of $15,000 bond as set by Judge F. Hugh Larose.
