Ernest Boudreaux, Sr. is announcing his intent to run for Lockport Chief of Police in the following statement:
I, Ernest Boudreaux, am once again announcing my candidacy for Chief of Police for the Town of Lockport.
Born and raised in Lockport, with 20+ years of law enforcement experience, being a four-time elected Chief of Police of this community, I feel there is no one more qualified or experienced for this office than I am. Therefore, I am asking for your support and feel it is time to lead Lockport in a new direction … to bring back leadership, pride, honesty, professionalism, fairness, impartiality, and integrity to this department. I will lead with an open-door policy but with a firm grip and a no-nonsense attitude.
It’s time to take Lockport back to what it once was and can be again by getting back to the basics:
- To enhance the “Say no to drugs” program and put it back in our schools;
- To take a good look at the Neighborhood Watch Program, putting this program in place in all areas of our community;
- To work closely with our local leaders, mayor, town council, parish leaders and state officials to make sure we all work together.
As your Chief of Police, I promise to handle and treat each situation and person with utmost respect, putting you, the people of Lockport first.
I am a graduate of NSU in Criminal Justice and served as Vice-President of the Southeast Association of Police Chiefs. I am a member of the Association of Professional Investigators and received an award of merit from President George W. Bush, Sr. for a “Drug Free America”. I received a Hometown Leadership Award for being a proven leader and in 2015 was recognized as a Hometown Hero for my dedication to my community.
These are just a few of my accomplishments. My record stands alone and above all others.
Lockport is in a new era and the outside world is creeping in.
Therefore, I feel we need someone that will balance the scales and tip it in our favor; someone who will give our kids a fighting chance now and in the future; someone who is stern but also has compassion and understanding.
We need someone who will fight for you and who will stand with you; someone who will do everything in his power to make sure Lockport is a place to be proud of, a place to call home. Our children’s future begins here and begins now!
As your Chief of Police, I promise I will also conduct myself in a professional manner, which reflects highly on you, the citizens of Lockport.
So please allow me to continue in this tradition and support me in my efforts to become Lockport’s Chief of Police. Please allow me to help move Lockport forward.
Together, with your help and God’s help, we can!
I can be reached by phone at 985-209-0007, or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
