Bayou Country Superfest expands to 3 days
BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — Country music fans can again enjoy three star-studded days of the genre during the 2016 Bayou Country Superfest.
Festival Productions Inc. said Thursday the festival, in its seventh year, would be expanded from two to three days over the Memorial Day Weekend, May 27-29. The music festival annually draws thousands to Baton Rouge and LSU's Tiger Stadium, where it's held.
In 2014, the superfest was three days, with an opening performance by George Strait and Reba McEntire. In 2015, the two-day event featured Kenny Chesney, Black Shelton, Miranda Lambert and others. Next year's artist lineup will be announced Nov. 10.
FPI recently expanded its reach into country music, announcing two new festivals: one in Florida at the Daytona International Speedway and the other at the Talladega Superspeedway in Alabama.
