Animal Shelter manager calls Saturday adoption event “A success”

Officials with the Lafourche Parish Animal Shelter (LPAS) said its first-ever Saturday opening was a success.
On Feb. 7, the LPAS adopted out three cats with another five going to rescue groups.

With this said, LPAS is already planning to host another adoption event on Saturday, March 7, where the shelter will be open from 8 a.m. to noon for adoptions as well as spay and neuter sign-ups.

According to LPAS Manager, Hilary Knight, seven people signed-up for Lafourche Parish’s Spay/Neuter Program on Feb. 7.

Similar to the recently held event, Knight said she’s looking for volunteers to help assist her at the shelter on March 7.
