'American Idol' finalist performs in his Louisiana hometown
LAFAYETTE, La. (AP) — Thousands of fans are celebrating a Louisiana man who's among the top four contestants of "American Idol."
The Advertiser reports that 23-year-old MacKenzie Bourg performed a concert Saturday in a downtown park in Lafayette.
Mayor-President Joel Robideaux gave Bourg a key to the city. An "American Idol" crew filmed the festivities, which included a parade.
Similar made-for-TV celebrations were held Saturday in Mississippi for two "American Idol" finalists from that state.
