Alma M.A. Wessinger, 88, a native of Leonville, LA and a past resident of Cut Off and Marrero, passed away on Saturday, August 26.

She became a resident of the South Lafourche Nursing Home in 2005 and then the Broadway Assistant Living Facility in Lockport.

A memorial Christian mass will be held Sat., Sept. 9 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church in Larose.

She is survived by her son Terry Angelle; daughters Sandra A. Barbier; Deborah A. (John) Deringer; Patricia A. Chouest; and Shelley Angelle; 15 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren; brothers Robert (Joy Rita) Artigue; Clarence (Genevieve) Artigue; and sister Mary Jane (Larry) Guilbeau.

She is preceded in death by her parents Benjamin and Hortense B. Artigue; sisters Mary Lou Angelle; Rita Thomlinson; Barbara Buras; and Thelma Graham; and sons-in-law Johnny Barbier and Herbert Chouest, Jr.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff and members of the Broadway Assisted Living Facility for the care given Ms. Alma for the past 12 years.
