Agents discover meth, marijuana and pills during traffic stop in Mathews
Agents with the Lafourche Parish Drug Task Force conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle heading northbound on LA Hwy. 308 in Mathews last Thursday. They identified the driver as Ashley Danos, 30, of Cut Off.
Danos was immediately taken into custody due to having three outstanding warrants.
With the assistance of a K-9 deputy, agents searched her vehicle and discovered suspected narcotics including approximately 15.6 grams of methamphetamine, 31.6 grams of marijuana, 22 amphetamine pills, 22 alprazolam pills, and six (6) hydrocodone pills in two (2) different dosage amounts. They also discovered various drug paraphernalia and $700 in cash. A presumptive field test on the suspected methamphetamine yielded a positive result.
Danos was transported to the Lafourche Parish Detention Center in Thibodaux where she was booked with possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, marijuana, amphetamine, hydrocodone (2 counts), and alprazolam and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was also booked on six active warrants for contempt of court, a probation/parole violation warrant, and as a fugitive of Terrebonne Parish where she is wanted for other drug charges.
Her bond was set at $128,000 for the charges in Lafourche Parish, but she is being held for Terrebonne Parish and Louisiana Probation and Parole. She has also been ordered to pay fines and costs in the amount of $1,650 related to one of the contempt charges.
