Agents Arrest Drug Dealer, Seize Nearly $40,000 of Crack Cocaine

Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre announced the arrest of a Mississippi man in the culmination of a narcotics investigation after agents found him in possession of over 13 ounces of crack cocaine valued at nearly $40,000. Robert Earl Henderson (B/M, D.O.B. 05/10/80) of Natchez was arrested following a traffic stop on U.S. Highway 90 early Tuesday morning. The Lafourche Parish Drug Task Force had identified Henderson, also known as “Deuce,” as an upper-level crack cocaine dealer and a source of supply to the South Lafourche area. On March 7, 2013, agents arrested Henderson with 296 grams of crack cocaine in his possession. After bonding out of jail, agents continued to receive intelligence on Henderson’s trafficking of crack cocaine to the area and eventually learned he would be bringing in a shipment Monday night. With assistance from the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office, agents conducted surveillance along U.S. Highway 90 and eventually spotted Henderson’s vehicle. At around 12:45 a.m. on Tuesday, August 13, agents initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle after Henderson veered into the left lane and back to the right lane without using a turn signal to change lanes. As Henderson’s vehicle pulled to the shoulder, agents witnessed an object to be tossed out the passenger-side window prior to the vehicle stopping approximately 100 yards later. Assisted by Patrol and K-9 Deputies, agents made contact with the driver and positively identified him as Henderson. Meanwhile, they also located the item which Henderson later admitted to tossing from the vehicle. The item was discovered to be a bag containing crack cocaine weighing approximately 384.4 gross grams. Henderson was placed under arrest and transported to the Lafourche Parish Detention Center in Thibodaux where he was booked with possession of 200-399 grams of crack cocaine and improper lane usage (R.S. 32:71). He is being held in lieu of $250,100 bond as set by Judge John LeBlanc. The narcotics seized on Tuesday have a street value of approximately $38,340. Henderson was also found to have over $1,000 cash in his possession.“This investigation and subsequent arrest has culminated in cutting off a significant supply of crack cocaine to the South Lafourche area,” said Sheriff Webre. “Our Task Force continues to fight relentlessly to remove drugs from the streets of Lafourche Parish, and today’s arrest goes a long way in helping that fight.”
