Other action from the June 12 Parish Council public meeting (all members were present and vote was unanimous except where noted):

- Passed an ordinance by vote of 8-1 calling for a special election to be held on November 6, 2018 to authorize the levy of additional sales tax to fund Solid Waste in Lafourche Parish. Jerry Lafont voted “nay”;

- Passed an ordinance to de-obligate budget balances of completed projects from the 2018 Operations and Maintenance budget. Jerry Jones and Lafont voted “nay”;

- Rejected an ordinance to de-obligate budget balances of all projects that have had no activity in three years. Only Daniel Lorraine, James Bourgeois and Michael Gros voted “yes”;

- Passed an ordinance providing $50,000 to pay for mitigation services demanded by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for the Choctaw Levee Project;

- Passed an ordinance to accept $865,540.61 from the Federal Government for the Gulf of Mexico Energy Security Fund (GOMESA);

- Passed a resolution asking the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development to place “No Parking on Shoulder” signs on LA1 from West 167th Street to West 168th Street;

- Passed a resolution appointing Greg Gaubert to the Lafourche Parish Tourist District No. 3 Board;

- Passed a resolution approving an amendment to the agreement between Lafourche Parish Government and Second Harvest Food Bank of Greater New Orleans and Acadiana to distribute commodities;

- Passed a resolution approving extending to the end of the year a contract between Lafourche Parish Government and the Lafourche Animal Hospital for veterinary services;

- Passed a resolution requesting the State and the Parish to discuss a proposed transfer of ownership of State Route LA 3266 (Cameco Road in Thibodaux) to Lafourche Parish;

- Approved an Intergovernmental Agreement between the Bayou Lafourche Fresh Water District and the Parish regarding the removal and disposal of abandoned and/or derelict vessels in Bayou Lafourche;

- Approved an Intergovernmental Agreement between the Sheriff’s Office and the Parish to provide for and maintain security at Council meetings;

- Passed a resolution approving the Parish President’s appointee of Brent Abadie to serve on the Economic Development Committee. Jerry Jones, Corey Perrillioux and Lafont voted “nay”;

- Rejected a resolution approving the Parish President’s appointee of Brent Abadie to serve on the Home Rule Charter Revision Committee. Bourgeois and Lorraine voted “yes”;

- Passed a resolution appointing Tina Serigny to the Parishwide Recreation Advisory Board representing District 9.
