Here is a rundown of action taken during tonight’s Lafourche Parish Council meeting. All votes were unanimous unless otherwise noted.
ACTION: Approved a proclamation honoring David Trosclair as grand marshal of the Krewe of Choupic.
ACTION: Proclaimed March 2019 as Problem Gambling Awareness Month.
ACTION: Approved a lease agreement with the St. John Volunteer Fire Department District 6 for leasing the premises located at 2429 Parish Road, Thibodaux for use as a polling place for Ward 1, Precincts 2, 3A and 3B.
ACTION: Approved an ordinance to change the polling location name for Ward 1, Precincts 2, 3A and 3B from Fletcher Technical Community College to St. John Volunteer Fire Department District 6.
ACTION: Approved a donation from Andrew Griffin of one Hyster forklift.
ACTION: Approved a 2019 appropriation of $272,692 for a new project for concrete road maintenance in Road Sales Tax District 2.
ACTION: Approved a transfer of $30,000 from the Larose Civic Center pump project to the Larose Civic Center improvements and recreation project.
ACTION: Approved an amendment to the grant with the Louisiana Workforce Commission for April 1, 2018, to June 30, 2020, to receive an increase of $1,735 from the Louisiana Workforce Commission.
ACTION: Accepted the low bid from Geosport Lighting Systems of $148,500 for the lighting and contouring of recreation at the Heros Park project.
ACTION: Approved an agreement with J. Wayne Plaisance and GIS Engineering for the drainage improvement project near West 217th Street.
ACTION: Approved an agreement with the Louisiana Housing Corporation for the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program grant period of Oct. 1, 2018, through Sept. 30, 2020. Councilman Jerry Jones abstained.
ACTION: Approved the appointment of Timothy Vedros as parish administrator.
ACTION: Approved an agreement with the Lafourche sheriff, the Lafourche clerk of court and the 17th Judicial District Court for security at the Courthouse and the Courthouse Annex in Thibodaux.
ACTION: Approved the selection criteria for Lafourche Parish Head Start children for the 2019-2020 school year.
ACTION: Approved an agreement with Environmental Systems Research Institute for term license software for Geographic Information System technology.
ACTION: Approved the low quote from Coastal Bridge Co. of $19,841 for the T-Bois Bridge repairs. Councilwoman Luci Sposito voted no.
ACTION: Approved the Lafourche Parish Head Start bylaws.
ACTION: Approved the appointment of Melissa Badeaux as Head Start director.
