Pedestrian Killed in Hit and Run Crash on LA 1

Golden Meadow, LA- Shortly before 6 am Saturday morning Louisiana State Police Troop C began investigating a hit and run fatality crash at the intersection of LA 1 and LA 3235 in Lafourche Parish involving a 48 year old pedestrian. The driver and vehicle involved in the crash are still wanted at this time.

The investigation revealed that an unknown vehicle was traveling north on LA 1, at the LA 3235 intersection, when it struck a pedestrian. The pedestrian was identified as William Pugh (age 48) of Houma, LA. The unknown vehicle then left the scene of the crash. It is unclear what time the crash occurred. Pugh was pronounced dead on the scene by the Lafourche Parish Coroner’s Office.

Alcohol use is unknown at this time. Weather conditions were foggy and dark around the location of the crash this morning. This crash remains under investigation.
