The 2nd Annual Bayou Cajun Festival kicks off Friday, May 6th at 5 p.m. with live music, food, fun, craft vendors, games and carnival rides!
Brennon and Sam kick off the festival beginning at 5:30 p.m. with live music and it doesn't end until midnight with Clustafunk closing out the first day of the three-day festival.
Saturday, the Bayou Cajun Fest welcomes Loud and Clear Productions to the stage at 11 a.m., followed by Waylon Thibodeaux from 2:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Chubby Carrier & The Bayou Swamp Band takes the stage from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a special musical act closing out the day from 9:30 p.m. to midnight.
Numerous outside food vendors will be selling delicious eats and treats to the hungry crowds as they enjoy some Cajun music and dancing under the Civic Center Pavilion. Shrimp, crabs and crawfish will play a prominent role at the fest!
And don't forget about the crafts! Craft vendors will be on hand offering hand-made jewelry, furniture, unique gift items and more Saturday and Sunday during the festival.
Saturday will also see the Bayou Cajun Festival royalty coronations as well as an old-fashioned potato dance!
Join the fun on Sunday for the Fest’s Mother's Day Brunch beginning at 10:30 a.m. Treat your mom to some good home cookin’ at the fest. Prepared by world-famous local chef, Mr. Bob Faulk, the Mother's Day Brunch features gumbo, baked chicken, rice dressing and more!
The Bayou Cajun Fest understands the importance of culture and tradition! Les Artistes Du Bayou Art Guild will be on hand with artwork under the Pavilion. Also, members of the Cajun Heritage Festival will be on hand displaying and demonstrating traditional, wooden decoy carvings. Visitors can watch the masters in action, ask questions and learn some things!
Don't forget about the mother/daughter look-a-like contest and awards beginning at 1:30 p.m.
Or the cardboard Boat Regatta at the pool beginning at 2 p.m.
Sunday, Will Cooper and Southern Grace gets the crowd dancing beginning at noon. The music continues throughout the day with Ruff N Ready taking to the stage from 3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. to close out the festival.
